Text4Baby

Text4Baby

Text4baby is a free mobile information service of the National Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition that provides pregnant women and new moms with information to help them care for their health and give their babies the best possible start in life. The purpose of Text4baby is to address a critical national health priority through the use of mobile health technology and demonstrate a new model for reaching and engaging underserved populations and promoting healthy behavior. The Hispanic and Latino communities are a high priority target audience for the Text4baby program. Currently only 6% of total users are registered in the Spanish protocol, a rate that the team is looking to increase through targeted outreach and with the support of partners such as yourself! As the new Hispanic Outreach Coordinator for Text4baby, I am reaching out to partners and working on the collaborative development and implementation of our Hispanic outreach plan. Currently, we are conducting a needs assessment survey for the existing network of partners to identify the current level of promotion to Spanish-speaking and Hispanic women and to collect best practices for this population. At the beginning of March, we are launching a concerted media and outreach campaign to exponentially grow our Spanish-language enrollees, starting with a satellite media tour.
